Where are the carrots?

fresh manure contains all kinds of thingies, not being a farmer, more an urban plowboy, I don't really know what to expect from carrots at this stage, so it is hard to pull the weeds out. and I'm told that we are going to thin the carrots any way, but what are the carrots and what are the weeds. oh, let them grow for a bit longer (is there a pun in there?)
