This squirrel, this morning, was trying its hardest to get into this “squirrel proof” feeder! It was scrabbling desperately so as not to fall off! It did eventually fall off but got straight back on! Not sure if it got food, but I don’t think so. Very entertaining!
Have you seen the spinning feeders? Birds can land on it with no problem, but the weight of a squirrel triggers the perch to spin and throw the squirrel off.
Super story telling collage, Carole!! I have been watching the same on my feeders this afternoon -- I think mine at one point managed some seed by hanging on a nearby branch and not putting its weight on the perch ! Aaaaaaarh !!
I love watching the squirrels trying to get into my feeder. Only one little red one was successful. He flew from the deck railing and he was so small the feeder didn't close up. He didn't eat that much so I never worried about it.
This collage is so much fun Carole! My squirrels have figured out several ways to sabotage my feeders. So much so I had to take them all down for the time being but I have my eyes on one of those spinners now!!
@olivetreeann - I figured after posting the video of the spinning bird feeder I would be banned from the Project for suggesting what some might think as animal cruelty.
But I figure if I want to feed the squirrels I would put corn or something else out for them. Bird seed is expensive enough just feeding the birds.
