I'm from a small town at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. My great aunt owned this house, which was right down the road from us. It was known by everyone as "the pink house." I loved going there. It was like a mansion to my sisters and me. It had 17 rooms, bay windows, tall ceilings, marble fireplaces, and a beautiful winding staircase. I loved the grounds also. There was a row of box woods leading up to the house and we played in and around them. I loved the way they smelled.
The house is no longer in our family but I'm glad to see that the current owners left the house painted it's original color.
What an amazing house.....What wonderful memories it holds for you!....So glad the current owners have maintained it so well & kept that fabulous pink! : )
