I took this picture when I was home. My sister had told me about it. She said it always drew her attention whenever she passed by it. I could understand why. I have no idea how old it is and, even though signs of aging are evident, it's still standing and has a lot of character, I think.
@dauber - It sat way off the road....as a matter of fact, I have no idea how anyone could get to it. My Mama said it was a "clapboard" house? I think that means it was natural wood, and not painted.
@jayberg - Actually, I did get a closer shot but the only thing in the picture was the house and the tree. My husband chose this one so I went with his opinion....you told me to always listen to him, remember?
@cimes1 - Ha! I'm not the writer so I'll leave that to someone else, but Mama told me that an article was actually written in the local newspaper about it but I couldn't find it in the archives.
