@ellimae thank you so much for your lovely comments, I think they are just found in the UK, although its not as often seen so I was so pleased I managed a decent photo of it. I think they are not so common as they used to be. We have another red butterfly called the red admiral and that is seen more often and is mistaken for the rarer peacock. Mostly they are cabbage whites!!
