Another from the other day, going down into the Dale with the heather beyond on the moorland tops. As you can see there are fire warnings all around the moor as the heather is tinder dry after very little rain in July and August.

So interesting - to look at all that green it would never occur to me that it was a fire hazard. The signs must be really important to warn people to be careful..
A wonderful scene. Unfortunately, heather is burned here instead of using sheep. Such surface burning under full control of the fire department is used after the end of the vegetation period. Our heaths are very small and easy to maintain control on them.
