Leicester

Judging by the length and lack of dirt on this Leicester ewe's coat it must be a yearling. They are not as common as the black-faced sheep in this area.

Thank you for all your comments and favs all are very welcome.
I'm layed up after my op so all photos I post have been taken in the last few weeks, in the knowledge that I would be so restricted.
My lovely hubby has offered his services with a camera if I run out of my stock pile!!
This is lovely - great crop to set it off too.

Oh Margaret. This shot and your commentary reminds me of a friend of mine at training college. She was a city girl and her teaching practice was in a village school. She pinned up a picture of a sheep, a simple easy starter, and asked what it was. She was met by silence and puzzled faces. She tried again. To cut a long story short, one of the class tentatively raised their hand, "I'm not sure," the pupil said, " it could be a Herdwick!" She was waiting for 'sheep'
