This moorland village rests on a ridge between two valleys. So picturesque even on a day like yesterday, shrouded with rain and grey clouds. When you go through the village onto the top of the moor you go onto Blakey Ridge which is the narrowest part of the moor with the ground falling away from each side of the road into deep valleys.
Here on the very top of the moor is the The Lion Inn which can in bad weather be cut off from the rest of the world because it’s so remote. I can remember one year the drifts and the snow plough leaving a wall of 12ft high snow to each side of the road. In bad weather it can be cut off for days at a time along with its guests!!

Thank you for all your comments and favs all are very welcome
A cool capture of this town on the ridge. This reminds me of the Shenandoah Valley which runs between two mountain ranges, mostly in the state of Virginia. The houses in the towns are often on a ridge with the farmlands surrounding them.
