Black widow pencils

I know they are not very colourful but they have very bright colour core. With some of the wackiest colour names.
They originated in Australia by MEDIHEALTH LTD. as the story I heard was they were developed by MEDIHEALTH because it was noted that colouring is a great help to mental health and these pencils were developed at a reasonable cost so they were affordable for those who needed them and were so popular that there are another 2 tins of all different colours a set of 72 altogether. The black widows came first followed by scorpions and cobras.

They are very unusual and the names are fantastic, apparently a competition was held for naming them so the consumers named them.
Here are a few of the colours, GRUB GREEN, GALAXY BLUE, BLOOD RED, PIGS EAR, IRISH GREEN, BROWN BUG to name a few.

What fascinating info! Made me laugh that they are called Black Widow and have a huge picture of a scorpion with only a tiny spider!

You inspired me to get some of these pencils. I ordered the Spider ones but the Cobra ones arrived! Amazon don’t appear to have the Scorpion ones so I may have to reorder the Spider ones! I really like them and will be using them shortly for colouring.
