Taken the other week this ewe was a little curious when we stopped to take this photo. She looks very disheveled, with last years coat in tatters. Some farmers don’t shear their sheep because the fleece is worth very little instead leaving them with motheaten coats like this which sheds each time it is caught on the heather or bracken. She is well fed otherwise, and not expectant!

Poor sheep - it must be pretty hot carrying that tatty woollen coat in this weather ! but a lovely face full of curiosity ! A super scenic view with the purple heather in the foreground ! fav
