Just thought we would try somewhere that’s usually quiet ....... no, couldn’t get parked! So just a couple of photos and home. Quite liked this boat and figures looking out to sea. This little (working) seaside village is just along the coast from Saltburn. It’s an ex mining/steelwork village and not what you would describe as pretty but it is well kept.

Thank you for all your lovely comments and favs all are appreciated and welcome.
I love this fishing scene! My memories of Skinningrove from when I walked that section of Cleveland Way was that it was an unfortunate interruption on a beautiful walk!

I’ve got to say it isn’t picturesque but in general over the past few years it has improved, my sister used to live there and it’s better in general since then.
It's a long time since I walked the Cleveland Way and passed through Skinningrove, so it may well have changed. I think my impression was influenced by the demolition of some of the old terraced houses and replacing them with modern less attractive terraced houses - and Skinningrove Beck running orange through the village, staining the rocks on the shore. Perhaps I should plan a future visit to see how it has changed.
