@rickster549, I was there at the very end of September. It is a very good time to go. The weather was magnificent. If I were to do it again, I would probably go a week or 2 later so more trees were showing color. Both Capitol Reef and Moab are close to the mountains and aspen trees which had just started to change color but this also could be from year to year.
