May 23: What's that flower?

This is what I saw in my garden bed when I was taking pictures of the daisies. I saw this part of the flower and then I saw the whole flower. Even looking at the whole flower, I could not figure out what this flower was. Then, I realized I had planted some early blooming iris in this flower bed. No wonder I did not recognize this flower immediately. The iris are past their peak and the early iris are definitely a thing of the past. This iris definitely surprised me by blooming much later than it should! Flower surprises are nice.
Most definitely a lovely surprise. Love the water droplets on the petal.

Beautiful capture right down to the lovely raindrops. Ok, so is this early Iris late? Or are all the other irises really early?

@olivetreeann Thanks! This iris is really late. The other iris bloomed on schedule.

@milaniet Thanks. We received a small amount of rain last night and the droplets were still on petals this morning.

Love your Iris. They are such lavish looking flowers. I just visited the Presby Iris Garden in NJ.

@tonygig Thanks! After seeing how nice these water droplets look, I think I will mist some flower blossoms on the dry days.
