We had a line of thunderstorms move through yesterday evening. I thought that we had just received heavy rainfall. When I woke up this morning, I discovered that there had been some damage to the trees in my neighborhood. This tree branch came crossing down onto the roof of the house to the south east of my house. Although the damage to the roof and perhaps the ridgeline support of the house was bad, the damage could have been much worse. The tree branch could have broken the chimney or a window. The tree branch could have fallen on a car or even worse, a person. Today, I am still thinking of the various aspects of being a human. I chose this photo to go with the emotional aspect. All kinds of emotions went through me when I saw this broken tree branch. I know the house owners must be experiencing a lot of varying emotions. Their roof is fairly new and was paid for by insurance due to other storm damage. I know that my neighbors must be worried about the insurance company refusing to replace a roof after replacing a roof two years ago. Emotions are an important part of who we are as humans. However, we cannot let negative emotions take over our lives.
