The Center by daisymiller

The Center

The red primrose plant is blooming. The flowers are red and have yellow centers. I took a macro shot to show off the nice flower center. I think the center looks like a blossom. The outside red petals are just an added bonus.

This shot is for the BW (Flash of Red-2015) challenge.
So dramatic. Love the b&w treatment and soft focus. Lovely image Daisy!

So you don't put any colour into your photos until just once? This one, I'm sure would be lovely in colour!

Great micro, beautiful in B+W

Another excellent choice for b&w - like the soft feeling to the petals and the strong focus on the center.

@eyesmile Thank you. I originally wanted a sharper focus, but the natural light was not bright enough. I eventually learned to like the soft focus caused by the diffused lighting.

@maggiemae Thanks! This one was great in color. In the flash of red challenge you use a flash of red selective coloring once in February. The rest is in BW. That is why I am continuing my puddle series in my second album to have some color each day.

@morrisphotos Thank you.

@tonygig Thanks. The natural lighting was not as bright as I wanted it to be. Therefore, I got this soft focus. Eventually, I liked the soft focus.

@paulaw Thanks. I like the flower within a flower too.

@pyrrhula Thanks. I debated about doing this red and yellow flower shot in BW, but decided that it would look good in BW too.

@milaniet Thanks. The lighting caused the look of this. The natural lighting was not very bright when I took this shot. I tried to concentrate on getting my focus on the center of the blossom.
