Swirling Glass Globs by daisymiller

Swirling Glass Globs

Glass paperweights always amaze me. I have seen these made, but I still do not fully understand how the colored swirling glass globs are created inside the glass paperweights. The day was gray and cold, so I decided to stay indoors and photograph this paperweight. I was trying to capture how the light comes into the paperweight and makes it "come alive".
We were experiencing the same things today! I didn't want to go out in the single digit temps, it was sort of gray, and a little glass bottle caught my attention inside. I really like those glass paper weights too- they're fascinating. Good shot!

@eyesmile Thank you. I always debate about how close to photograph a glass paperweight, but I liked this distance for this one.
