I was expecting the blossoms of this primrose to be deep pink. I was surprised by these bright red blossoms with yellow centers. I do like the colors though. My favorite color contrast is red and green.
I took this shot for the photography playdate exercise in chapter three of the book, Extraordinary Everyday Photography. You can go on a photographyplaydate by yourself or with another phtoographer. On your playdate, look for specific things, such as color relationships. This exercise is supposed to help you find ideas for pictures. After reading the list of ideas in the book, I chose to start with color relationships first. I walked by this red primrose and that was that. I had found my photo subject. So far so good. We will see how quickly I can find my photo subjects on the next several days.
