My dog, Casper, loves to sun. He lies in front of the living room window and lets the sunlight warm him. This shot is one of several I am taking for the photo club's monthly theme of window light.
I also took this shot for the photography playdate exercise (Chapter 3, Extraordinary Everyday Photography). One of the ideas in the book is to take photos showing contrast. The contrast could be between things that are small and large, or dark and light. This is not my usual way to photograph contrast between light and dark. However, I saw the extreme differences between light and dark in this scene and decided to shoot this. The photo I saw in my mind was a little different than this, but this is the best I could get. I found that my dog, Casper, does not like to be bothered when he is sunning.
