This shot is for the lines photo playdate exercise in the book, Extraordinary Everyday Photography. This started out as a simple photo walk, on which I wanted to shoot the lines of this structure. I was unhappy though with my shots of this structure as a whole. My images changed from the realistic to the abstract as I shot and shot. I was photographing the overpass on the walking trail. I want to preserve this overpass "on film", as it will be destroyed in the next few months. Over the road trucks continually get stuck when the trailer roofs hit the bottom of the overpass. Some part of the overpass is supposed to be left intact so the walking trail can still go over the highway. After studying the overpass with my camera, I am not certain which part is going to be left. I saw damage to the bottom of all parts of the overpass. Although I know this overpass is outdated, I will still miss it. I know that the overpass is a historical structure, but I have not yet run across the written account of when this structure was built.
