Great shot. How exotic. Envy you. You get such colorful birds down there. Haven't they ever heard of camouflage. All the birds around here are dull colors. Except for people's escaped parakeets.

@skipt07 Yes. It's a swamphen that inhabits warm marshes and swamps of the SE US. I've also heard people call them swamp chickens. They swim like a duck and walk on floating plants.
