Today, rain, lightning, thunder. All that means no soccer tourney games and indoor activity. I asked my girls to go to the grocery store with me, and they responded "no." But then I asked, "What if you get your own list, and I go get the things I want to shop for and you are on your own? You just meet me at the check-out!" Success.
What a funny experience. I'll have to see if I can show a collage of what they bought and of what I bought (see: http://365project.org/darylo/didn-t-make-cut/2013-05-19), but the girls explored the store on their own (of course, here, I have snuck around the corner to get them in action) and met me at the check-out, put all their goods up, and paid the cashier all by themselves. I came behind with my supplies and oversaw that they weren't getting in the way. The checkout folks thought it was a hoot.
The processing for this rather non-descript photo was originally done in LR then I saved it to the hard-drive and edited in Picasa for the "comic book effect" and some zoom effects. Fun with processing.
@twistergirl Thanks Doris. Today, it was a big improvised scene -- all with the goal of "getting the shot." I could have taken photos of veggies and meat and such, but this seemed like a more fun idea.
@spair@judis@jyokota@shunter@pflaume@gsanemone@witchyjacq@colie@rennes@nicoleterheide Thanks all! It was fun to do this when I had NOTHING I thought to photograph. Believe me, their cart was filled with lots of stuff I would not buy, but eh, they'll live and they did get junk for their planned "game night" after we came back from shopping. They had their junk food, played board games for hours, and went to bed! It was great. Luckily, my trolley had the healthy stuff. :)
How lucky you are to have 2 wonderful daughters to manipulate into spending time with you! Always love your stories.
