Happy World Photography Day to you! Happy 1st day of school to me! IT'S STILL RAINING HERE. My English Composition course starts today, and I have been present online a good bit to make sure my course site it up and running. By lunch time, I decided to go outside, have a look around, and weed out the small beds my daughters and I planted this summer. I also picked a yellow bell pepper! We only got two, but they are delicious.
At one point, I was looking under some leaves near the bay leaf tree and there was this exoskeleton, perfectly preserved. So I brought it in to play! My husband came home just as I was seeing how it might work downstairs on the table--he rolled his eyes a bit. :)
Yesterday, I was playing with backgrounds to provide color for my onion shoots (weeds really), and this time, I took the exo creature to my office, plopped it on the tray that is part of my grandmother's lamp with the light producing a green hue and my pepto pink wall in the background.
I used my macro clip converter. I've processed it minimally with no crops. I sort of like it!
Happy First Day of school to you . . . but is it really World Photography Day? I thought that was in October . . . the 5th?
Your exoskeleton made me recall my childhood of collecting them, discarded by the cicadas all around my neighborhood. You exude such fun in photographing it! @taffy would agree that we all have spouses that roll their eyes (but in fun) as we do the strange things that 365ers do.
I laughed at Junko's note as today, with grandkids and their parents visiting, several of us spent an inordinate amount of time photographing and moving around a rather gross looking spider! I like this exoskeleton and the care you took in creating the right background for the little former creature!
Looks like something that would battle Godzilla in an old Japanese horror film. I'm married to a photographer and she still rolls her eyes occasionally.

A nice capture for the day!
