I had hoped that my Exbury Azalea was going to progress further in the Month of March, but a look back at my photos from April shows me that I am ahead of the game. So I'm cheating here to show you what this beautiful rhododendron will look like in one month's time from the bud phase (This shot is from April 22 of 2013). I may continue to take macros of the bud to complete the phases, but for the purpose of Macro March, I'm trying to get to the bloom stage!
Some things take a good long time, and this plant is a real beauty squashed between my gardenia bushes--poor planning on the part of the original owners or builder when the house was initially landscaped.
This month has been a real joy for me to see what I do appreciate in my garden (and in the gardens of at least two other neighbors).
I really appreciate the color of this one. Really good gardens are difficult here because of the short growing season and high elevation, so I will just have to enjoy your photos.
