I decided yesterday evening to run down to my brother's house, and on the way home after 11 pm, I realized I needed to get my shot in for the day and I did want a night shot intentionally. I had prepared by leaving with all camera gear, including my tripod in the car. It was not the safest time at night to go out shooting, so I decided to drive around in search of something that might not be too difficult, and I happened upon two buildings I see from the highway all the time! The Queen and Kings buildings as we call them (see the crowns?). I had never been right next to them (shows how I was driving a bit aimlessly too). I tried finding the best vantage point, which ended up being next to the Arby's in a shopping strip where some businesses were still open and I felt safe enough to pop out for a night shot.
It was raining a bit, so the sky is not great, but hey, it's what I could get!
Sunday, I am going on the highway in a bike race for fun. After taking this night shot I decided to take the exit where the race will happen and boy was I shocked to see a good portion of the race is downhill -- wait, that's not really good. It's REALLY steep downhill. Here's hoping I don't FREAK out if my brakes don't hold. Yikes.
And pray no rain. I ain't speeding down any hills in rain!
