Warning, I may have lost my mind, but here goes: My hero, Jerry Plume, has issued one of the best challenges on this site this week (they happen about 2-3 times a year) and I have done every One Night Stand Challenge ever since I started. I credit this particular challenge with the beginning of my interest in really learning about my camera. So newbies, get on the train of wild fun, and those of you veterans, get ready for another ride! Here is the current challenge:

The premise is to use one type of photography a day. One shot only, and then move on, good, bad, or ugly.
So day one of this challenge is "Soft Focus." As usual, if I don't know what the challenge entails, and I don't want to create the effect in post processing, I Google the term.
Well, I found this link that says you can use tights (ladies' hose essentially) to cover your lens to get a soft focus effect. Here is the link to the information:

One, I thought, "oh, yes, scandalous, AND perfect for my first one night stand this week" (note: my husband is in NY too! hahahahaha). I went in search of hose/tights, and no luck. Apparently my super-feminist inclinations over the years have found those items out-dated and downright constraining, so I thought, oh jeez, what else would work? Well, yup, my black panties, more affectionately known as my "granny panties" but for the purpose of this week, they are my scandalous, not-uptight, unmentionables for an important photography mission!
I put them on my nifty-fifty (stretched them) and secured them with the lens hood! Then, I walked around my back garden to find a subject. I would walk around town doing this, but I think I just might get arrested. I mean, there are children out there and they might point and say, "Mommy, that lady has her UNDERWEAR on her camera!" So, yes, I would die of humiliation in that case, but here's a scandalous daisy for you folks. No need to be up"tight" about it. I did not spend much time on this one. But I'm excited that I learned a new technique! And hey, the only processing I did was use a bit of luminance smoothing. Otherwise. It's a purely panty production.
