My kids roll their eyes, but this time, I think they were so happy I asked our local firefighters, all having BBQ at our favorite place tonight, to pose with our wonderful Japanese student (Yua). They suggested we go outside and get her in the jumpseat and turn on the lights. Yup, people usually say yes to me and my camera!!! She had a blast AND loved the ribs, brunswick stew, and fries. :)
Memorable, indeed! You are making such wonderful experiences for your student (and daughters!). I'm sorry I;ve been so crazed lately that I have been very inconsistent on 365. I've missed interacting with you! In about 8 more days, Michael and I are taking our next group of 20 students to Japan!
@jyokota How wonderful you are taking more students! We relish our hosting experiences, and it was so fun to watch my daughter converse rather easily in Japanese. And Junko, I am virtually absent in the 365 universe other than posting and going. It's been a difficult year to work with photographically. I miss our interaction too. :)
What great sports the firefighters were, and how wonderful to have created this experience for your exchange student! She has a terrific smile -- clearly was enjoying herself.
