Not only can you find discarded automobiles of any kind on the 34 acres of Old Car City, but you can also find random stuff like old dolls in corroded wagons under tall pine trees. This shot is even freakier perhaps in color, which is here: http://365project.org/darylo/didn-t-make-cut/2014-11-15
I'll post one more Old Car City shot tomorrow, but then I'll turn my lens to another subject (actually 7 subjects) for next week with the best challenge that exists on 365 (for me at least): Jerry Plume's One Night Stand challenge. I have always credited this wild ride (one type of photography a day/night for a week, and only one shot to post--just one--the crap shot or the gem of a shot--then move on) with getting me seriously into being a photographer. I've come a long way, and this fun "push" for a week is a great way to see what you can produce even if you have no idea how to produce it!
This one feels less creepy than just sad. Lost and abandoned, but now ominous looking dolls as it feels in color. Creative images for both, but this one at least doesn't scare me! Thank you, Daryl, for your kind comments earlier this week, or maybe yesterday! Time has no meaning at the moment. I am feeling a lot better tonight after seeing what our new contractor has accomplished in a day and a half. It really is amazing what a highly competent organization will do, and it makes me realize just what was not happening before. So relieved -- but of course, that means that now, the magnitude of what we've lost is just sinking in. Ups and downs.
