Lucy Before and After (photoediting)

I wanted to create this side-by-side collage to show how I changed the photo in LR5.

This is my third photo "session" with Lucy--she's so adorable and very grown up now! She was wearing a collar that had an invisible fence box on it, so I used the heal function on LR5 and I think it came out pretty well!

Isn't she adorable? :) Here are some earlier shots of her as a pup.

Oooh. Ok, let me guess.
First, you cropped and magnified about what, 20%.
Cloned out the collar
darkened the shadows, then black.
Increased highlights...
but then, it looks like you might have applied a mask around the edges, and that mask also might be the same on the face?

Maybe a slight warming in color?

Close! I did crop first. I upped the exposure some then decreased highlights and shadows. Healed/cloned the collar. Used a radial filter around the eyes to bring out them a bit more (to not much success), took out some luminence with the purples and magentas because her nose looked purple zoomed in (but depending on the calibration of a monitor, this element changes). Left highlights and black alone. Gave a slight vignetting. Oh, and upped clarity. Good guessing Adam! And good to see you here!

The editing on this is super, impressed with your job of the clone/heal. Looks like there was never a collar there!
