Thanks to @momsta who has challenged me to do a "forced perspective" shot, which I have been playing around with now for 3 days but did not have anything to post until today.
I have been struggling with the fact that I don't have a partner to get this challenge done (you know, some kid who will move a bunch and have a head on a stick or something). I'm busy these days in the evenings, and they are in school!
So I will not tell you how I did this one (you have to guess first!)--but it is, indeed, forced perspective. Will try another one tomorrow when the light cooperates. :)
Last, sorry, HOTDOG, I am in the throws of grading and last week of class--comments will be rare. I'll be announcing the ETSOOI-20 winner tomorrow. Keep voting until midnight tonight (and wow, my email is clogged--that's a good thing!).
@mzzhope I was about to admit defeat--seriously, I couldn't come up with anything. I was playing with my grandmother's magnifying glass and it caught the light and projected the prism on the wall. I then held up my hand away from the wall to have the tweezers fit around the projection in the distance. THEN, as I was doing that, the light came in through the front hallway and lit up my hand while I was doing it--creating a cool effect. I had to crop it a good bit to get the image looking real enough--I don't have a wide angle lens, which apparently makes this type of shot much easier.
Tomorrow, I hope to capture the bokeh that the light creates as it comes in from the front hallway (because I'm playing with the aperture to get that hexagonal shape too--some of my other shots did that, but now with my tweezer positioned correctly). The color version is much better than this one in my opinion, but the tweezers are not enough in focus, so the b&w hides that a bit more I think. Oh well, got pushed. Man, that was a hard one.
Yeah, I much prefer the color. The illusionddoesn't really work for me on this one... the tweezers seem very separate from what's between them... and it kind of loses its point without the rainbow.
Wow. Maybe I should go into the gym and work off my anger from the day there rather than through overcritiquing my 365 friend on my phone in the gym parking lot. :^)
@mzzhope Girl, it threw me for a freaking loop! It's better if you have someone helping hold an object, but if you have to do it on your own, this is an option! I KNOW whatever you do will be spectacular. I'm heading out of town in the a.m. so I'll check out your forced perspective when I get back. ;)
