We have agapanthus growing along the roadside outside our place. The neighbours across the road planted them, and now there is a lovely avenue of blue and white flowers. But they are now classed as an 'environmental weed' by the NZ Department of Conservation. Since they free seed, are hardy, tolerate salt winds and grow quickly in our warm climate, they spread too easily. I like them, and it has only recently been deemed harmful that they colonise areas that would otherwise have native seedlings germinate. The photo shows the many seed 'pods' from a blue flower head.
I have them in my driveway, they were already here, the odd one self seeds but usually the seeds all drop into the established plant which doesn't cause any problems. They look lovely when in flower and can last in our long dry summer. Your shot shows great detail!
Fortunately for us 'mainlanders' the frost knocks them back in winter, so they tend not to be invasive on South Island. Love the processing of your photo.
