These are Ponga - commonly known as NZ silver fern. They are the National Emblem for NZ and are seen displayed on National Representative team uniforms, Air NZ planes and many tourist items. They are lovely trees (actually ferns) and the fronds are a silvery white underneath. The curled up frond is called a koru and these are the symbol of new life.
Wonderful image! I'm sitting here in awe of the uniqueness of this plant and the gorgeous canopy it creates above your head. Love how you composed this picture. It's such a treat to see your images and learn about your beautiful stretch of the world.

I love NZ ferns, they're food for the eyes. We've seen some gorgeous examples at some of the golf courses we played in your homeland. I enjoyed your shot, a different perspective from the usual.
@dide That would be great, though I haven't yet convinced my partner to participate in the 365 party. With luck we'll be coming to NZ in about March next year on a golf trip being organised with our club pros, so keep fingers crossed. It'd be great to meet you and others too if that works out.
