These big alders are on our front lawn - mid-winter and there's a few leaves still hanging on. When the kids were young, they were good trees to practice their tree climbing skills.
@tabarlett Yep - kids loved them. Best climbing story was when our very reluctant schoolboy needed some extra after school tutoring - he climbed to the top and would not come down to go for his first lesson! Claimed he'd already had 6 hours at school that day and he wasn't doing any more of that stuff.
