Forestry gate by dide

Forestry gate

From a few weeks back - a lovely old gate in the Waiuku Forest. This shot was taken the day I went orienteering - unfortunately the lighting wasn't very interesting.
Great shot... wooden gates are so much more interesting than pipe gate... great in B&W

Totally fabulous shot. Love it

I love the clarity and composition of this shot, it may just as well that you did not have strong sun light. It works better in the forest, at least to me.

Great detail, I love old gates

This is lovely. At my photography club we are told that a closed gate shuts the viewer out but an open gate invites you in, and this is very inviting.

This looks great in b&w. Love all those vertical trees in the background.

Very nice processing :-)

I like the processing, but don't underestimate how nice it is to see photos which transport us to another place and conjure up great memories.

Such effective processing to create interest!

This is terrific - you need to check and tag this for whatever I was reading yesterday about a fence challenge - perfect for it - love the look through the fence.

Great in b&w

This wooden gate has such character, even in B&W. I feel like since it's open I should walk on through and see what's out there in the woods.

You're right about the view from my rooftop looking rather like a very large garden. Very large indeed.

@dide glad you liked it Dianne.....must admit I had to think which one it was even though I only read it a short while ago...a quick look at kindle & I remembered that I had really enjoyed it!

Lots of atmosphere here and I like the angle you've used in capturing the gate, there's a definite feeling of an invitation to explore.
