Michael Joseph Savage Memorial by dide

Michael Joseph Savage Memorial

I went with @julzmaioro today to visit the Michael Joseph Savage Memorial and gardens. A really well-kept site overlooking the Waitemata Harbour and Rangitoto Island. Michael Savage was the first Labour Prime Minister of New Zealand. He was elected in 1935, was a kind hearted and popular man, and died in office in 1940.
Nice to see that they are taking care of the grounds around the memorial!

Beautiful place to visit. His surname doesn't seem to go well with his character and this wonderful memorial. But what's in a name!!!! People there must be very proud of him for what he did to put up a memorial like this.

The landscaping looks to be impeccably kept which, a testament perhaps to how much M. Savage was admired and appreciated. Pretty picture.

Beautiful gardens and shot. Kind hearted and popular....he wouldn't have survived politics today. :)

Nice perspective - I like that you have taken it slightly right of centre to the monument.
