All wrapped up

Our contractor son owns half a baler and today was its first outing. Josh was pretty pleased with how it went. It's amazing how technical these machines are - even has a wee screen showing what is happening to the bale as it is being wrapped. This is the silage on our place now all wrapped up ready for the farmer to feed to his stock in the winter next year.
Interesting shots and narrative. Amazes me how technical modern computer-aided satnav guided farm machinery is - knows what was sown and where, what the yield was last time, lotsof other stuff that I dont know about, and sets itself accordingly!

I have seen so many photos from States with bales on the field, I wonder why they are all wrapped in NZ? Not looks nice for photography.

Hurrah, the baler is here and it matches the tractor. Super collage of modern farming techniques. I am faving it as I think it tells a wonderful story. Apparently the cows think the hay is much nicer wrapped as well - tastier, less dry and more nutrients preserved.
