This afternoon, @julzmaioro and I went to Pokeno - a small town south of Auckland. We were there to support a kids cancer charity run. About 60 minis are traveling from Kaitaia (north of North Island) to Invercargill (southern end of South Island) during the Easter weekend. It was neat to see so many dedicated drivers and co-drivers. In the middle of this shot is @pitasmum 's husband standing by his mini - which has a perspex bonnet.
'Goodbye Pork Pie' was a NZ movie, released in 1981 - about a young guy who steals a mini in Kaitaia and ends up traveling the length of NZ to Invercargill. He is chased by police along the way, for various misdemeanours. The Charity Run follows the route taken by the mini in the movie.
Hi Keri - @pitasmum - saw your good man today at Pokeno - such a neat band of enthusiastic people giving up their time and raising funds along the way - good on them! I think @julzmaioro will be putting up a shot on 365 tonight that Kevin said you would understand!
@dide no, not that crazy, but I have known him longer that Keri and Kevin because I our families knew each other at primary school. My first car was a mini so this has been a great trip down memory lane. Haven't made it into Kevs car yet.
I agree with @gilbertwood Denise. And I am a little jealous of @graemestevens , I have always wanted to own a mini. An original one of course, not one made by BMW.
