A few of us are in an Auckland Camera Clubs' shootout competition. It runs for a week and we got the topics last night. It's heaps of fun and there are about 12 different clubs that compete. Between 8 of us, we need to get 6 images (one to match each topic). One of the topics is 'abstract, depicting Auckland' - there is heaps of lovely bush within the greater Auckland area, so today @julzmaioro and I went exploring. Do you think I should crop the sides in so the image finishes on the dark tree trunks?
Lovely result of I.C.M. I would stick with it no crop required, the left and right darkness draws the eye into the image, looks like you nailed this challenge Nova:)
Great ICM shot. On balance I think no to cropping - though difficult to tell without seeing, but I might be tempted to slightly darken the left and right sides (slightly more on the right) up to the dark trunks to give a side vignette & make the centre pop. Of course I might do that and then think that was a waste of time! ;-)
