Harvest

The ground has dried out enough for the maize harvest to continue. It has been a very difficult season and there are maize crops in some places that are under water and may not even be able to be retrieved. This is Josh's tractor and trailer and he is driving the huge chopper.
Awesome rural shot

Good that you don't have to be in line to wait for a big machine like this! Hope there is not too much loss!

I really like this composition - I like the rows of maize and the lines of the trees behind - plus the great light. Nice.

Harry says what area is this Dianne? Brian could do with some maize but where he usually gets it from is waterlogged. Fave for the great farming photo.

Very nicely framed and so interesting to see how the maize crop is harvested.

@happypat 365 can now do some wheeling and dealing ... There is going to be alot of maize left in the paddock I would think .. not good for the maize farmers who rely on this for a good chunk of their income... This would be about 1 1/4 hours drive north from Brian..

Good to see that work resumes. So many areas totally wiped out.

I'm glad that you got a good crop, though sorry to hear that some might be unable to be harvested.

Good to hear your maize is OK, always so tough for people when crops are ruined after all that hard work and expense. Love the pov you've used.

Glad you got your maize in. Ours will be happening hopefully early this week. It was only under water for a day so its ok. Flood ground has to be regrassed, so with the maize paddocks, we have half our farm out. Not good going into the winter as we have 70 cows calving. We have to send our heifers off of to graizing. Haven't down that for about 20 years. Still better off than a few around here tho.
