Last night we stayed at a Firth of Thames beach, and on the way home today we called to see mum. She lives in a small rural rest home. It is a great place, with only about 21 residents. She has a wee corner with lots of her pot plants and a few shrubs and is very proud of her garden. At 93 she does very well. I did laugh, as when I first got out the camera, she quickly pushed her walking frame out of the way, saying 'I don't need this in the photo!'
She has a lovely colourful garden and so nice that she can keep up her interest with gardening while in the Nurseing home ... amazing that she has dahlia's flowering though ... good on her pushing the walker away ..
A lovely lady that I am proud to be able to call 'Aunty'...
Her home sounds perfect, not too many other residents and she can have her garden. Wonderful. I do love the photo of her bottom center, I really love her red shoes and that great smile. I know she loved seeing you.
Lovely collage of your mom and her garden. Sweet that she proud and doesn't want her walker in the pictured. It sounds like she is in a great place. Do nice she is able to enjoy her garden.
Oh Dianne it's so good to see your lovely places for the elderly. I always think they are so much nicer than care & nursing homes in the UK. Some of ours you would not want to be in. I have been in a couple of yours with Jo & everyone looks so happy. Less people in your country I suppose has a lot to do with it. Your mum looks wonderful & having interests such as her bit of garden is essential.
