I was lying on the grass in the orchard taking an image of these little toadstools, when I hear 'Yoohoo'. It was the neighbour from down the road, standing at the gate, laughing at my antics! We had a lovely long chat with the required 2-3 metres between us.
@maggiemae Yes - we have been swapping eggs for tomatoes; feijoa for chilli jelly etc. They are lovely neighbours and we have a great relationship but don't live in one another's pockets.
The positions and angles we get in to get the correct perspective must make many passers by smile, well this image has been well worth it , lovely perspective, colour and clarity Dianne, Fav:)
Wow, what a pov. Reminds me of the fairytale pictures where to protagonist is so tiny that the mushrooms look like trees. I would have laughed at you, too, seeing you in that position.
I like seeing these fungi in various stages of ageing. As for “antics”, I have spent years on my stomach, or haunches, recording wild orchids and fungi, so I can guess how you must have looked.
Beautiful shot. You have to get low to take a shot like this; I am often to be found kneeling, or even lying, on the ground in my garden. Luckily I don't have many neighbours to notice.
@happypat yes - we go back a long way - born in the same year and at school together from about age 9. Neighbours as kids across the back of the farm. She is a wonderful cook and eggs we give her sometimes come back as a cake!
