We called at an old cemetery today on our way home from overnighting at Hamilton’s Gap. There were only about 20 graves scattered about a large area. This one had 4 corner posts and looked like there used to be a chain fence around it. I wonder if long ago the area was grazed by sheep?
I too am rather fascinated by old cemeteries. The posts with chains may have been to keep sheep out or maybe just to denote that the person/people buried there were somehow special, or part of a prominent family?
