So a couple of weeks ago I participated in a photo competition in South Beach. There were over 100 photographers in the competition...6 topics were given and we had to photograph our version of each topic (abundance, scarcity, in, out, pattern and texture). My texture photo was selected as one of the 6 finalists!!! First place wins $500. I'm not sure how the voting goes...I am just SO excited right now!! I'm jumping like a little girl :-) :-) :-)
@pawar_ramesh Thanks, Ramesh. Haven't won yet...i'm a finalist, which is still super duper exciting!! The first, second and third place winner is announced April 7. :-) Oh!! and my hubby did help a ton...he was awesome.
@irabat I say, take a chance and go into contests even if you dont hink you have what it takes...push yourself right on the spot!! I've only had my dslr since mid january this year...i started my 365 i think within a week of getting my camera. I really have no idea what i'm doing most of the time, but i am practicing like crazy lol you never know how someone else will view your work. I never dreamed my picture would be picked as a finalist in this contest!! the judges looked through about 1200 pictures and narrowed it down to the final 6.
