We all come across a photo here on 365 that we absolutely love or connect to for whatever reason, and then look at the photo stats and see that it hasn't been viewed much or fav'd much and we think its crazy for being unnoticed and/or under appreciated.
The Hidden Gems thread will be a weekly thread in which we share photos we feel deserve recognition - especially if we feel it deserves to make the Popular Page and just needs a little help to be noticed so it can get there. For this reason, we will not post from the week prior, like the Favorite Fav threads do... that wouldn't do the photo we're sharing justice. Instead, posting will be current. To avoid any issues that may result in thread going bonkers, I've established a few rules to follow when posting:
1. No more than one photo per person. Once you post to this thread for the day, you have to wait until the next day if you want to post another.
2. If a photo has 15 or more faves, regardless of the view count, please do not post it... its already getting a lot of love.
3. Please post within 2 days of the user's date of upload. After this week, starting June 1st, posting for a date for the prior week will be discouraged. The week will run Friday to Thursday.
4. Please do not post contest/challenge/theme entries.
5. You may post one of your own photos on Wednesdays if you feel it isn't being viewed or fav'd as much as you think it deserves. Self promotion isn't a bad thing, but this thread is primarily to help someone we follow get recognition
6. This thread is going to get a lot of response as it has in the past, so PLEASE click on "view more sizes" and copy the code for the SMALL version (you want people to have to click on it and go to the user's page, so small is better anyway)
That sad, here is an example of the type of photo to post. This is from @dieter It has only been viewed 39 times as of this posting and fav'd only twice. The photo is WAY too good for 39 views and 2 fav's to be acceptable, imho....
oh wow, cheers Jeff! I've been busy, and then gone, and then back (and busy again)... I doubt most folks following me have been feeling the love lately, lol ;)
This thread is a great idea! I look forward to finding lots of great photos and photographers through this and will look out for 'hidden gems' from now on to post here.
@dieter I think maybe some people didn't realize you'd come back. That shot of the palm trees is so perfect! And you have a very interesting style, I hope the shot ends up getting the love it deserves.

thank you for this thread. i'd like to include here this hidden gem by @moonshadow. this was taken in april, it only had 17 views and 1 fav (by me). this lady, when she takes photo, i compare her to a homerun hitter - she either hits a homerun or a triple. she does have a few strikeouts but she needs recognition.
And I promise I won't post another on the 25th, but this is just too amazing to pass up. 7 images stitched together of a famous landmark and it has all of 22 views? This one by @dieter should be all over the POP page.
@webfoot thanks Paul! :) It's a shame the clouds don't have just a bit more zip, but I'm pretty happy with that one. There wasn't even a puff of wind so it stitched together beautifully. Just have to clone out the tripod shadow...

@jsw0109 Just an aside....if your goal is to help things onto the PP I say go for it! But if you want a few to get the extra nudge they need for the T20....might help to change the days that it runs so they are the same as a normal week....the T20 comes out on the weekend, so like Sun-Sat.

@shadesofgrey I thought the T20 week,since its posted on Fridays, went from Fri-Thu,since photos uploaded on Fridays end up in contention for the T20 that is posted the following Friday, which is why I figured I'd start on Fridays.
@paulyv24 I figure without a boost, it probably won't be seen enough because of the low number of followers, but it would be a crime for this to not at least make PP....you're definitely going to want to view it large
