Ok, it's really not a big thing but I'm still excited. Our local ABC radio station is running a weekly photo competition to get rid of some old relic tapes- odd but true. Anyway this week's theme was 'Winter' and photos had to have some kind of 'Melbourneness' about them. I decided to submit this one just for fun:
I just got an email to say that I've won this week's competition. My photo gets to be their banner photo on Facebook for the week and I get an ancient audio tape autographed by one of the presenters, LOL! Well- it's a start!
If you are interested you can see it on 774 ABC Radio Melbourne's Facebook page.
Congratulations Terri, it doesn't matter what the actual prize was, your work gets seen!! It is a very iconic Melbourne scene - Tram, drizzle plus a great moon in the shot too and nice leading lines! Great shot!
That's great! Well done to you. It is a nice feeling to get your photos published, regardless of wether there is a prize or not. I had one in the local paper and was very excited...it had no byline, but I ran around telling everyone it was my pic!!!!
PPOV, I would find a way to archive the prize (the tape), it might be historically interesting in the future. eg. Ernie Kovacs tapes that the network erased because the didn't what to buy new tapes...
I won a similar comp recently, the prize was a bit meh but it was judged so I was pretty excited.
