This is called "The attack of the Honeybees". A tractor trailer hauling beehives overturned on the expressway and we were overrun by honeybees last fall. They hung around until it got cold and then disappeared. Haven't seen them this summer. It took a while for the hummers to get used to the bees and share the feeder.
Somehow I missed this thread, but I have been trying for two years now to capture one of these little beauties, but they have not been liking my feeder for some reason. The other evening while at my Brother's place I was lucky enough to spot this very rare Brittle Glass Hummer, and he cooperated long enough for me to capture a glimpse, LOL. It looks like this will be the closest I come.
