COLLAGES

January 15th, 2013
I am looking for other programs to creat collages in. I currently use picmonkey, but would like to see other styles. Post as many of your collages as you like and the programs you used. I only have three in my project and have a few ideas for more, but I need some inspiration from my fellow 365'rs. I would love to see different styles ;)

Hi Shirley,

I use Picasa 3 - very easy, I'm sure there are better ones out there and you can do it in photoshop (not a clue how to use photoshop however).

January 15th, 2013
I've only used Picmonkey so far.

January 15th, 2013
I have two, one was done in Picasa and the other in Photoscape, I just can't remember which way round :-/

January 15th, 2013
@missmercy Tese are awesome!
@gemtumble wonderful treasures and memories in ver cool collage form
January 15th, 2013
@shirljess Thank you. Mind you, having seen @steviemichelle 's ones I think I'll be using the rounded corners more often.

@sugarmuser This is so amazing.. I love it. Love how you have created a staind glass effect . Thx for the suggestion, I am going to give it a try ;)
January 15th, 2013
I generally use Picasa after post processing in Lightroom. It's quick and easy. Lightroom may have something too but I have never explored. I make a lot more of these to share with family on Facebook.

January 15th, 2013
@shirljess I downloaded this toolbar:
http://free.myscrapnook.com/index.jhtml?spu=true&partner=9Nxdm005&theme=collagerun&gclid=CKr1pcuk67QCFQE5pgod5nIAsg
(there are many things you can do with it)
to create this
January 15th, 2013
Very cool framing.. thx for the info!
January 15th, 2013
@steviemichelle I've been using Picmonkey but I can only ever get them with even shapes like your bottom two. How do you get them to have mixed shapes and sizes like your top two?
January 16th, 2013
i'm not a huge fan of collages unless they tell a story, so i've only done a few ('cos i'm not good at story telling ;p) and most have been done in either PSE (which is a pain) or picasa (which is limiting)

Didn't get the clear crisp shot I wanted today, but in collage, you can get a real feel for the experience, so I went small. Ladybug and I were playing!

January 16th, 2013
@la_photographic Laura, I love all of our collages.. very creative!
January 16th, 2013
@shirljess Thanks.
January 16th, 2013
@kjarn it's really easy, when making a collage on picmonkey you can physically drag the lines of the collage boxes up and down and left and right to make whatever size you'd like them to be and they all kind of fit together like a jigsaw. But I have just seen that they have made some of the more varied collages a Royale feature which is annoying, but you should still be able to move the boxes around :)
January 17th, 2013
@steviemichelle that is amazing and sounds so simple. Thank you so much.
January 17th, 2013
@shirljess It's a shot of water, bare branches over the water, then I played with it in picmonkey.

I usually use Picasa 3:

I recently found out that you can put in shadows behind the pictures, too:

And for this one I made a collage with Picasa and put two pictures over it with Photoshop:
January 17th, 2013
I found http://www.turbocollage.com very useful for this
January 17th, 2013

This one came out of Ashampoo Photo Comander. I found out after I posted this that I had more leeway with the collage.
