It would be half empty if you could only do this for one year!
Lets see everyones milestone shots, Halfway, One Year, Two Year....
Here is mine, First shot in the second half of my first year!
Lets see some of those amazing shots from around the globe
A milestone for 2 reasons. It was halfway through my 366 project and also it is a shot to commemorate the day I got the keys to my first home I actually own.
Some shots are special because of the reception they receive. This one was Number 1 on TT for Week 100 which I was excited about. Funnily, in my stats it doesn't even appear in my Top Ten even though it is my second highest favorited shot. I have always been grateful for support and have never wanted to start threads to showcase a particular shot, although I have contributed to others. I guess I wanted to see how much a shot could achieve in terms of connecting with others by just being there on its visual impact. I would always be wondering otherwise...
@northy agree, think it is the most beautiful photo and a little disappointed will miss out on it. Sometimes our cups are never empty.
@peterdegraaff that's a gorgeous shot, Peter! funny you should mention the stats thing... my highest fav'd photo is there, but not 3 of my next 4 highests... one of which made the T20... go figure :)
Sunrise over the Missisippi River with Samuel Clemens....one of my all time personal favorites.....and thank you all for it making the PP. @jsorensenart
Well, this is my photo #20. Kind of a smaller milestone compared to everyone else's but I still feel like I have improved so much in just the last 20 days! All of the above photos are beautiful by the way!
@peterdegraaff Peter the shot you posted is brilliant, you have posted some of my all time favorite shots on 365... of course the comment you posted with it comes across as both cocky and condescending which is a little disappointing
@jsorensenart it is not intended to be. There is a legitimate post for threads but often those along the lines of "show me your" can have a cockiness which can be intimidating for others, and I hate to say can seem very manipulative and self promotional. Just saying...take it what ever way you want. This is possibly we some last year started threads of show me craptastic and worst.
@peterdegraaff self promotional... sure... you do the same thing every time you post on a tread like this... Manipulative... wtf! and as for intimidating... we are all just people with cameras trying to get better at something we enjoy!
@jsorensenart Got to say that I tend not to post on these threads that often, except the weekly favourite of your own and favourite of others, or the amusing ones. We all get a blast when occassionally somebody tells us they admire one of our photos. I guess that is the route I prefer to take. There have been lots of this kind of thread lately, and then others are out there who are getting upset that no one is looking at there photos. I guess that's why I like the threads that ask us to show the photos of another person or those who are less well known.
@peterdegraaff In the 6 months I have been on 365 I have started 2 treads. One about National Parks and This one because I was happy about making the 6 month milestone. By the way you posted pics on both of those threads... I spend lots of time posting comments on other peoples pictures and trying to give positive feedback... anyway thanks for crapping all over me hope it makes you feel better
@jsorensenart Jake I wasn't "crapping" over you and I think you know that. I think it is one of the most beautiful photos I have seen taken of Lake MacDonald and YOU took it. It is in fact one of the most beautiful winter photos I have seen. I feel very strongly that a photo as beautiful as the one you have taken should be allowed to stand on its on its own merits and it will. That takes time. That's all I am saying. I like others value the comments you make, and I probably don't comment enough at the moment. We all want to feel good about our photos, and, I don't want you to think that because I am expressing and feeling a frustration with the plethora of threads at the moment that it is perhaps about you. I think very highly of your creative spirits and energy.
@peterdegraaff Truce, I completely respect your work and think that you bring a huge amount to the 365 community. And I do understand what you are saying about the plethora of threads, but that will sort itself out in time... Sometimes the planets aline and you get a shot that you are very proud of and you want everyone to see it, this shot lined up with a legitimate milestone of my half way point, which was the deciding factor of starting the tread. I think that we are both passionate people and the points have been made.
I'm currently at 150 images so here is my shot number 75 for my halfway point.
I was trying to recreate a Beaton/Hurrell style low key portrait but had no idea how to go about it. I'm much happier with the one I took last week as I now know what I should have done with the lighting on my initial picture.
I must be a glutton for punishment - am supposed to be taking my "week" off after finishing my first 365. . .and here I am instead, following MICHAEL ELLIOTT in a post again! Oh, well. . .here's my #365:
First paid "shoot"
End of my first year:
First top 20
End of year 1
And this won a weekly Theme
Ok...so, perhaps not as much of a milestone as everyone else but I wanted to join in. Everythings relative, right?!

@jsorensenart
Last shot of my first year:
Halfway through the 2nd year:
And last shot of year 2:
They are not really my most stellar shots- but they are the milestones such as they may be!
I've been here so long its hard to determine exactly where half way was .... so this is #537 which is half way through my main album....
end of 1st year:
end of year 2:
My first 365 shot, because it made me get my camera gear out of a very very dusty corner and make time in every day to do something I love. : )
I was trying to recreate a Beaton/Hurrell style low key portrait but had no idea how to go about it. I'm much happier with the one I took last week as I now know what I should have done with the lighting on my initial picture.
This is the first shot of my 2nd year:
and this is the first shot of my 3rd year which starts today:
And then this one was epic (a #1 and Theme winner in same week) in Year Two:
Photo-a-day #1,000 (June 2, 2007)
Photo-a-day #2,000 (February 26, 2010)
Photo-a-day #3,000 (November 22, 2012)
Top 5 in weekly theme - liquid
My most faved shot, into double figures!
