I had just been taking photographs of the lights and baubles on the Christmas tree and was moving away when my finger twitched on the shutter release. I guess I must have already had it half depressed or something. I didn't get a precise, perfect, photograph, but I like what I did get:
I don't really remember the Christmas decorations clearly, or the photos I took of them, which came out okay but were nothing inspiring, but I'll always remember this photo because it's bundled up with the memory of how it happened.
This is a recent one of mine. I had the expoure too far to the left of the meter and snapped the photo. When I viewed it the vibrant blue sky had turned this turqoise color. I adjusted the contrast on the other bits of the church so it wouldn't look too washed out.
It just so happens that this very morning I had a great example while trying to get a picture of the -2º (-19ºC) sign on my way to work. it's an alternating time and temp sign, so I missed the temp, but shakily and mistakenly got that cool-effect time. I tried to re-create it with the temp but couldn't, and yet I kind of like the way it turned out. (Not least because it fell another degree just as I clicked!)
What timing as I just shared this one in the panorama thread. It's the panorama software's interpretation that made the curvature and makes it appear like we are in the stratosphere.
Just me, I wanted to take a pix of my husband wearing a ridiculous hat during new year's eve, and as I wanted to take of the autoreverse function of my phone, I took myself !
I almost didn't post this as it is from my phone, breaks most rules and was really a "joke" shot. It has ended-up being my most populor shot in the past month or more.
My camera started to download two of every image and changes the orientation. I rather liked this one in the landscape setting. It made it more abstract and funky.
Probably one of the worst photos of my project but I posted it anyway.
Snapped it without even thinking or looking through the lens. Night time, no flash, wrong ISO, wrong shutter speed.
This is my latest. All the wrong settings on the camera, cat came by way too soon and I took the shot from the wrong angle. I thought it would be a big foggy nothing but it turned into this:
I also have a lot of animal shots that didn't make my 365 but are hilarious because of the silly faces the animals made on just the right moment. That's what I love about animal photography, you definately never know what you will get.
I'd say this one. I had the camera held about waist-high and was clicking away during a church festival, in the dark, high ISO. Most of the images came out blurry or dark, but this one seemed to work. This was done for a "Get Pushed" challenge.
This was for a "get pushed" challenge to show motion. I had been shooting in the shade and turned to quickly catch this police car speeding by - SO overexposed, but I like the effect it gave!
Technically not "my" accident. It was on my camera and it was one of my children. I put my memory card in the computer at the end of the day to view that days photos, ended up not posting any of them because this one was just far too funny. At some point my darling son had taken an almost perfectly focused photo of his toes :-)
I was at the park taking photos of my daughter, when I snagged this one. It totally cracked me up and looked like she was pretending to sing into a microphone!
Some great shots here!! Funny, I took a photo today where my flash went off when it was not supposed to. I always have it off on my phone because of the case (it turns all my photos purple if the flash is on) but for some reason it went off when I took this:
Hurrying back to the car after after taking a photo I passed this lane. I swapped lenses, but failed to notice the AF switch set to manual. (Note to self - use the camera, not the lens, AF switch.) At the time I was so busy concentrating on the exposure I failed to notice the focus. However, I kind of like the dreamy feel it's given the image.
