Being new to photography, I thought that the Get Pushed challenge would be a good way to really learn my camera. For this week, I was pushed to do the dreaded selfie. I'm not gonna lie, at first-- I definitely claimed defeat and thought maybe I would pass on this week-- but then I wanted to give it a try-- to at least say I tried. I don't have a tripod, so I set my camera on my dresser and propped it up at an angle with a picture frame. So this is what I came out with-- I know the angle or composition isn't done well-- but just having one that I was willing to post made me happy. So here is my first selfie--
Show one of yourself-- I love to see the faces of who I follow or who I potentially will follow :)
My first get-pushed involved a selfie too! The image is probably the one I'm most proud of in my whole project, and captured something very emotionally significant (see blog post)
My favorite was probably this one, my last shot from year one. This year my goal is to perfect the selfie and to become like Tiara above (that good at them:).
I actually enjoy selfies when they are not of my face ha ha ha :)
But of all the ones I like this best, I was on the boat and the horizion is crooked and the crop is strange, but it worked .
I hate selfies! This was my first one, and it's still my favorite. If you want to know why, go to August 14, 2011 of my project and you can read the story there. (o:
I've challenged myself to do at least one a month because I'm not too comfortable in front of the camera. Plus, I love all the ones I've seen here - I want to try some more creative ones.
This has been my fave of the few I've done, for a high-key get-pushed challenge:
I only have a few, but decided to try and do with with each of my kids. I did 2 of them but missed the third. Maybe I'll revisit it and do a new selfie with each of them...
I've only done one so far and I think they will be few and far between. I was surprised with the reactions of my friends though. Some thought I looked mean and others didn't recognise me.
I have lots of selfies I love...mainly because most have my son in them and I always wished my own mother was in more photos from when I was growing up (instead of the one behind the camera all the time). I think selfies are a lot of fun but I still have work to do on them :) Here are two:
whenever I think of the selfies I have taken, my mind always goes back to the one below. I think I like it so much because it's quirky; as am I. But, there are several I'd consider favorites (not all so quirky).
I did a couple for a photography class this last summer. There was a lot of running back and forth from the tripod to my mark, trying to get into just the right position before the camera triggered.
But of all the ones I like this best, I was on the boat and the horizion is crooked and the crop is strange, but it worked .
The bee was real and cooperated!
