Ever take a photo and look at it just after you took it and you can't believe it's not edited? That happened to me just today, and might I say, it is a wonderful feeling. :D
I don't have access to any software other than a free download of Picasa. This photo is only cropped. The only processing I do on any of my photos is add a frame or vignette, and a few times have used the focal zoom and focal B&W. Otherwise all SOOC. I was pleased with this one because of the vibrant combination of the pink, green and blue.
Yes, all lovely. But a touch of tone and color refinement would help each and every one of those posted here I am convinced.
Here's one of the few I have shot recently that had no external editor tone and color adjustments. Only a crop and a down-sampling for internet view. But I took a lot of time to edit the picture control in the camera first to enhance the "vivid" picture control to display the current fall colors even better, and to add more sharpness and contrast. So what is the difference between doing that, and a hassle it indeed is, and doing it more flexibly and a lot simpler in an editor? Even this one could be refined more carefully in Camera Raw or Photoshop.
This is my latest SOOC and I was so happy to get it in low light - of course I took many photos of this owl until I got a few good ones. Deleted many more.
this is a recent one, I love to play with long exposures, I tried to edit this but it didn't improve anything so I kept coming back to how it was, sooc!
@homeschoolmom On the right hand side under the 'share' section there is a code, just copy and paste it into a reply box. Once you post the reply the pic will appear. Hope that makes sense Lisa.
@homeschoolmom on the right hand side of your page under all the info about a photo there are share buttons ~ there is a box that contains the code for that photo [it is directly above the 'subscribe to RSS' ]~ just copy it and paste it here.
Some great soocs around here!
Love that feeling too! Looking at a shot and just sit there and think "Wow...did I just do that?" I had it with this one:
Just loved it so very much and still do.
As I shoot in RAW mode on my camera none of my images I consider to be SOOS as they have to be opened in Photoshop or Lightroom to convert to a jpeg image for uploading to the site. This is a shot I took this morning that is directly out of my iPhone. There was no post processing at all.
@remirixjones Can you ever really consider a photo shot with a digital camera in Raw as SOOC since the conversion process has all those tweeking functions in it? And if you shoot in JPEG hasn't your camera already done color, light and some sharpening type tweeking for you? Just wondering.
This one from today is one of my favourites. The late autumn sun had such a lovely warmth to it and I think I managed to capture that without any editing :)
This is my latest SOOC. I don't have Photoshop or LR. I have hit the I-Pad "enhanced" button on a couple of my pics & have definitely cropped. I would like to know the percentage of who does & doesn't use editing on their shots. I try to remember that this project is about ME; learning to use my camera, to take better pics, & to enjoy this process.

My first shot for my project.
This is the one that put me on the PP for the first (and only) time:
And this one was also very beautiful:
@alisonp
They're all "sooc" apart from resizing.
This one for me :)
